| Citrus Storage Refrigerated Warehouse
Harvested citrus products must be promptly transported to storage and pre-cooled. Each commercial citrus product has its own storage value. To preserve citrus, an appropriate relative humidity of 85% to 90% is required. Citrus, widely traded worldwide, can be stored for 3 to 4 months at 3 to 4°C, while oranges can be stored for 5 to 6 months at 4 to 6°C. Grapefruit can be stored for 5 to 7 months at 8 to 10°C, and lemons can be stored for 7 to 9 months at 10 to 12°C in standard room temperature storage.
Air quality control systems: While not particularly effective for citrus fruits like pears and apples, they provide an average of one month or more of additional shelf life, depending on the variety.
